Klondyke - Part One: Bridget's Eviction:

As part of the old Labour Housing Market Renewal Initiative. (HMRI) An 88 year-old pensioner has today 8/3/2012 - been forcibly evicted from her home of many years, and over the past twelve months has suffered harassment and threats by Sefton Borough Council officials - who have systematically split the Klondyke community of Bootle by bulldozing large swaths of housing stock as part of a 'new build' project called 'New Heartlands'.

Since it's inception in 2003, the whole project has become a 'land-grab' for developers Bellway Homes and 'One-Vision' Housing - abetted by the local authority - Sefton MBC - who have replaced these terraced houses that have lasted for over 100 years,  with largely unaffordable, badly-built property to former residents - without a single element of basic environmental technology such as solar panels or water recycling.

According to campaigner Juliet Edgar (interviewed for this film) it is: "Social engineering on a huge scale." using draconian 'compulsory purchase' tactics to evict home-owners, while squandering millions of pounds of tax-payers money on new houses, which (if history is any judge) will have a life-span of little more than  thirty years.
